Uopeople Proctored Course
UoPeople Proctored Courses are intended to ensure high quality online learning. All students taking online courses must participate in a proctored exam at the end of each term. A proctored exam is an assessment taken under the supervision of an approved proctor. UoPeople works with proctoring service providers to facilitate the proctored exam process. A proctor is a person who is authorized to administer a test, supervise a student while they are taking an exam, and verify the identity of the student taking the assessment. Proctors may be found in libraries, testing centers, schools, and businesses. Proctored exams are secure ways of ensuring that students are working independently and completing their assessments following academic integrity principles. The proctored exam process requires students to turn in their equipment to the proctor and finish the assessment under their supervision. During the exam, proctors monitor the student’s environment and verify their identity. When the assessment is completed, the proctor will return the student’s equipment and submit the results to the University. All UoPeople courses require an end-of-term proctored exam in order to receive credit for the course. To prepare for a proctored exam, students should review the Proctored Exam Preparation Guide and make sure they understand the the guidelines for the assessment. Additionally, students should book their proctor early to ensure that they secure a convenient appointment time. UoPeople’s proctored exam policy is designed to ensure that all students receive a high-quality and secure online learning experience.
