Torticollis And Plagiocephaly Course
Torticollis and plagiocephaly are two common forms of head and neck positioning disorders that can cause a baby’s head to be tilted or shifted to one side. The Torticollis and Plagiocephaly Course is designed to provide health professionals with the necessary tools and strategies to help infants and children with these conditions. The course provides an overview of the anatomy, pathophysiology, and assessment of Torticollis and Plagiocephaly, as well as information about the various management strategies available. Participants will gain an understanding of the functional implications of these conditions and the need to promote proper head and neck positioning early in a baby’s development. Investment in timely and appropriate intervention is presented as essential to a baby’s success. The course also covers the psycho-social impacts of a posture problem and how to provide the necessary support to parents and caregivers. Participants gain an understanding of the dangers of prolonged irregular head and neck positioning, the development of refractory cases, and the associated long-term consequences. The course also covers positioning and handling techniques and provides a comprehensive overview of the most appropriate conservative and medical management strategies. By the end of the course, participants will have the necessary skills and knowledge to assess, intervene, and manage infants and children with Torticollis and Plagiocephaly. The course is suitable for health professionals of all levels looking to provide comprehensive assessment, management, and support for their infant and pediatric clients.
