Ragweed Cause Headaches Courses

Ragweed allergies can cause these annoying and sometimes debilitating symptoms: headaches, sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. Those with ragweed allergies suffer especially during the peak seasons, from August until late October, when the pollen counts are highest. Ragweed pollen is a major cause of seasonal allergic rhinitis and can trigger the inflammatory cascade that leads to headaches, nasal congestion, and other allergy symptoms. Sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and watery or itchy eyes are all common symptoms of ragweed allergies. Most of these symptoms occur because the bodies of those with ragweed allergies mount an exaggerated response to the allergen. In some cases, ragweed allergies can also trigger migraines, which can cause intense throbbing headaches. Other migraine symptoms include sensitivity to sound, light and smell; nausea; dizziness; and fatigue. In some cases, people with ragweed allergies might have both migraine-style headaches, and more common tension headaches. Fortunately, there are steps those with ragweed allergies can take to try to reduce the severity of their symptoms, including avoiding going outside during peak ragweed seasons and taking allergy medications, such as antihistamines. People with allergies should also wear a mask when doing outdoor activities, like raking leaves, to reduce their exposure to the ragweed allergen.
