PMA Course at Hull University is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to effectively plan, manage and evaluate programmes in the public and private sectors. The course focuses on understanding the fundamentals of project management, including planning, budgeting, project management tools and techniques and managing risk. Students will also be able to analyze and critically evaluate research, policy and strategies related to project management. The course covers various topics, including project definition and initiation, project management principles and methods, decision-making tools and techniques, project evaluation, operation and management, and planning and implementation. Additionally, the curriculum covers the use of project management tools, such as Gantt charts and PERT diagrams, and the application of these tools to real-life projects. The course also presents an overview of the concepts, theories, and methods of public management; including project definition and orientation, project management and control, project management system and evaluation. In addition to the general project management topics, the course also covers a variety of other relevant topics, such as risk management, systems and processes, organizational dynamics and working environment, and program and project planning. The class culminates in a final project that students must present to their classmates for review and approval. Upon successful completion of the course, students can receive an advanced Certificate of Public Project Management from Hull University.
