Palpation Courses
Palpation courses offer health care practitioners the opportunity to learn about soft tissue massage and manual therapies. These courses focus on the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries. In some courses, students may also learn about anatomy and physiology, along with hands-on instruction. During a palpation course, students may be taught about different massage techniques. These techniques can include Swedish massage, Shiatsu, Sports massage, and Trigger Point therapy, among others. Professional accredited courses will provide information on the applications of these techniques and how to assess the patient's needs. Proper safety and universal precautions will also be discussed, such as maintaining personal hygiene, preventing injuries and proper hand positioning. In addition to learning practical massage techniques, students can also learn more in-depth massage techniques such as myofascial release and joint mobilisation. Courses will also address legal, ethical and medico-legal aspects of manual therapies, and how to better communicate patient care. Overall, palpation courses can provide health care practitioners with the skills and knowledge to better assess, treat and manage musculoskeletal injuries. Whether you are starting out in the massage therapy field or looking to update your skills, palpation courses can help you become more knowledgeable and confident in your ability to provide successful treatments.
