Palazzina Cesira Courses

Palazzina Cesira is a 16th Century palace constructed in Genoa, Italy. Built by a wealthy nobleman in 1585, the palace was originally intended to be the home of his beloved daughter, Centurina di Tursi, but it later became the residence of the Cesira family. The palace is notable for its unique Italianate architecture. Its main facade is decorated with columns and topped with a trefoil arch. Inside, the palace boasts a beautiful courtyard with a Renaissancewell and a large park. The interior contains numerous frescoed walls and vaulted ceilings, in addition to ornate furniture from the 1600s. Since its opening in the 16th century, Palazzina Cesira has served as a popular destination for cultural and social events. In 1847, the palace hosted the first-ever public screening of a film in Italy; and over a century later, it played host to the wedding reception of the British-Italian royal couple Prince Charles and Princess Camilla. Today, Palazzina Cesira is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and remains a popular tourist attraction in Genoa. It is also used for private events and tours, as well as being rented out as luxurious accommodation. Visitors and locals alike have praised the palace's Renaissance-era charm and its elegant Italian-style decoration. Palazzina Cesira stands as a testament to the wealth, power and culture of the noble families that built and maintained it, and it is a must-see destination for anyone interested in Italian art and architecture.
