Us Navy Pomi Course

The US Navy POMI Course is a 12-week program designed to provide Navy personnel with the knowledge and skills needed for successful personnel management. This course is offered through the Navy College Program for Afloat College Education (NCPACE), and covers personnel law and policy, operational readiness, performance standards, human resources management and evaluation, career planning and development, and administrative procedures. The course is designed to prepare Sailors for increased personnel management responsibilities associated with leadership positions. The course is broken into three parts. The first part covers Navy personnel law and policy, operational readiness, and performance standards. In this part of the course, students will be introduced to the different levels of personnel management, including the personnel support structure provided by the Navy and Department of Defense. They will also learn how to apply personnel policy and regulations to problem-solve typical personnel management issues. The second part of the course addresses the human resources management and evaluation aspect of personnel management. In this part, students will learn concepts such as employee development, career planning and leadership skills. They will also be exposed to a variety of assessment tools used to evaluate performance and fitness for duty. The third part of the course focuses on administrative procedures related to personnel management. Students will learn how to establish an organization, manage resources within the organization, and analyze productivity. They will also learn how to respond to emergencies and make decisions under pressure. Upon completion of the course, students will be awarded a certificate in Personnel Management and will be equipped to lead a successful personnel management team.
