President Trump’s golf course in New York City was recently raided by the FBI, in an apparent investigation into two of his golf club businesses. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point in the Bronx and also the Trump Organization’s contractor, Minneapolis-based S&A Concrete, a company responsible for both refurbishing and building the golf course. According to reports, the probe regards potential conflict of interest issues and potential violations of U.S. labor laws, such as hiring undocumented immigrants to work at the golf course, potentially at below-market wages. The Trump Organization and S&A had vocally denied any such violations in the past. The FBI raid took place on Tuesday, April 7th. Agents were observed gathering evidence, such as paperwork and computer files, at both Trump Golf Links and S&A Concrete company. The investigation has been ongoing since late 2019. According to reports, the Trump Organization and S&A Concrete were given multiple chances to provide documents to investigators, but failed to comply. That being said, the companies have also denied any evidence of any wrongdoing. By the end of the raid, the FBI agents were able to obtain multiple documents and digital files pertaining to the Trump golf course businesses. It is currently unclear what other actions will be taken, as the investigation is clearly still in the early stages.
