Rhombus Area Courses
A rhombus is a two-dimensional shape with 4 sides that are all the same length and two opposite sides which meet to form 90° angles. The area of a rhombus is the amount of space it covers and is calculated using the formula A= a2×sin θ, where a is the length of the rhombus' sides and θ is the measure of the angle between two opposite sides. The area of a rhombus is generally represented as a positive real number, with the unit of measurement depending on the context. For instance, the area of a rhombus described in square units would be expressed in square units (e.g. cm2, m2, km2). To calculate the area of a rhombus, it is best to first measure the lengths of the two opposite sides. If they are not the same, then the angle between them must be measured as well. Then, use the formula A= a2×sin θ to calculate the area of the rhombus. It is important to keep in mind that the area of a rhombus is always a positive real number, regardless of the orientation of the two opposite sides. Even if the sides appear to be the same length, and the angle between them is less than 90°, the resulting area will still be a positive real number.
