Rhabdomyolysis Causes Men Courses

Rhabdomyolysis is a disorder in which skeletal muscle breaks down, causing the release of muscle proteins, electrolytes, and other metabolic byproducts into the bloodstream. This disorder affects adults and children, though in men it is often caused by strenuous physical activity or exercise, traumatic injury, or extreme heat exposure. Other possible causes include genetic conditions, exposure to toxins, severe dehydration, and certain medications. In men, the most common cause of rhabdomyolysis is physical exertion or overexertion, usually during sports or physical activities or due to overexertion in hot environments. Factors that may contribute to physical overexertion in men include low physical fitness, dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, inadequate rest and sleep, and physical exposures such as extreme heat or frostbite. Infections, such as sepsis and HIV, can also lead to rhabdomyolysis in men. Certain health conditions, such as diabetes, kidney diseases, and metabolic disorders, increase the risk of developing rhabdomyolysis in men. Additionally, certain medications, including statins, can contribute to the condition. Some psychiatric medications, including lithium, can also lead to rhabdomyolysis in men. Lastly, certain drugs, such as cocaine, alcohol, and heroin, can lead to rhabdomyolysis in men. Alcohol abuse is particularly a risk factor, as it can also lead to dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, and impaired judgment that increases the risk of overexertion and injury.
