Retro Drop Courses Uottawa
Retro Drop Courses at the University of Ottawa allows you to withdraw from courses without penalty or record on your transcript. The Retro Drop period is the last three weeks of the term, in which time you can withdraw from courses without being assigned a failing grade or academic penalty. The Retro Drop period is intended to allow a student to make a better-informed decision about whether or not to remain in the course and to understand the cost of that decision. The Retro Drop period does not guarantee the student will be able to receive a refund for course fees, some faculties like Sciences and Engineering may require a significant portion to be kept. It is also important to remember that the Retro Drop does not totally eliminate the student's record of being in the course. The student's transcript will still indicate that the course was taken and will also note that it was dropped. Retro Drop is not intended to be used as a way to avoid taking difficult courses, or as a way to procrastinate until the last minute while avoiding the grades or academic penalty of a withdrawal. It is important to use the Retro Drop period only if absolutely necessary and with due consideration of the consequences- and the costs- of such a decision.
