Remicade Cause Cancer Courses

Remicade (infliximab) is a monoclonal antibody medication used to treat a variety of autoimmune disorders, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. While it is an effective treatment for many of these disorders, there is limited and equivocal evidence to suggest an association between Remicade use and certain types of cancers. At the present time, the evidence of a causal association between the use of Remicade and any type of cancer is considered weak. A few studies have suggested a possible link between Remicade use and the development of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, however, the results could not be confirmed with certainty and the risk remained uncertain. Other studies have also indicated that Remicade use may also be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer and colorectal cancer; however, the evidence is still limited. Therefore, due to the limited evidence, it is unlikely that Remicade use causes cancer. However, long-term use of the drug should be considered carefully and it is important to discuss any potential risks or side effects with the prescribing physician.
