Relaxed Couch Pose Courses


The Relaxed Couch Pose, also known as Supta Udarakarshanasana, is an incredibly calming, restorative yoga pose that can be used to reduce stress and fatigue. Practicing this pose can help you to relax and promote an overall sense of well being. The Relaxed Couch Pose requires you to recline on the floor with your legs together, feet apart, and feet either tucked in toward your buttocks or straightened out in front of you. As you inhale, lift your arms up and out to the side, palms facing up. On your exhalation, lower your arms down and around your back, reaching for the floor with your palms. Keep your arms close to your back and find a comfortable position that allows your shoulders and upper back to be relaxed. Allow your breathing to become increasingly slow and deep while you remain in this pose. Allow your body to soften and let go. To deepen the pose, you can position a bolster underneath the curves of your spine. Doing so can help with any back pain and make the relaxation more powerful. Stay in this position anywhere from five to fifteen minutes. Once complete, roll to your right side and push yourself up to Seita Kroushikasana to counter this position. The Relaxed Couch Pose is a wonderful and simple way to relax your entire body. Doing this pose can help balance your emotions, relieve muscular tension, and lower stress levels. Plus, you'll be able to enjoy some truly blissful rest and relaxation!
