Radhikashtakam Courses

Radhikashtakam is a Sanskrit poem portraying the relationship of Radha and Krishna within Hindu mythology. The poem is composed by the poet Vallabhacharya and is part of his Pushti Marga (Grace path) spiritual movement. The poem is composed of eight verses, each highlighting the qualities of their relationship. It begins with the word ‘Radhikashtakam‘, which means that Radha should be worshipped with songs and prayers. In the first verse, the poet praises Radha, describing her as an expert in playing the flute, a form of Krishna's favorite pastime. He also describes her as an embodiment of love, beauty, and transient joy. He states that Radha is ‘Kanti-sooded’, which means that she is filled with the brilliance of Krishna and is the source of supreme joy. The second verse praises the union of Krishna and Radha. The poem states that their union is the only source of true peace and happiness in the world. They come together for their own pleasure, and all others in the world are blessed by it. The third verse describes the overflowing love of Radha for Krishna, stating that she considers no one else but him as her source of enjoyment. The fourth verse emphasizes that Krishna and Radha reciprocate each other's love in its most pure form, a beautiful manifestation of divine grace. The fifth verse celebrates their intimate connection. The love they have is like nectar, something so divine that neither time nor distance can diminish it. The sixth verse is a reminder of the intensity of their love and the way it unites all those who come into their presence. The seventh verse describes their love as something that can never be fully understood by the human mind because it transcends the realm of cause and effect. The final verse calls upon all in the world to come and experience the joy of union with Krishna and Radha. The poem Radhikashtakam is a loving tribute to the sacred relationship between Krishna and Radha and remains a source of inspiration for many devotees today.
