Puppetry classes can be an immensely rewarding way to explore the world of live entertainment. In a puppetry class, students will gain an understanding of the techniques used to create and manipulate puppets (like marionettes and hand puppets), and how to create an engaging performance with them. Puppetry classes will cover the basics of puppet manipulation, the fundamentals of lip-synching, and the methods for creatively expressing the voice of a puppet character. As well as providing hands-on instruction for manipulating a puppet, a puppetry class will also include instruction on the development of characterization and theatrical presentation. At the end of the class, students will have gained a wealth of knowledge on the fundamentals of puppetry and gained the confidence to make creative choices to manipulate a puppet. Having completed a puppetry class, students may also have the opportunity to create a live puppet show, which they can perform on their own or with other puppeteers. Puppetry classes are available for students of all levels - from beginners to experienced puppeteers. No matter the level of skill, puppetry classes can be a great way to learn and express creativity while also having fun!
