Proteinuria Causes Cat Courses
Proteinuria is a condition that occurs when the kidneys are unable to adequately filter proteins from the blood into the urine. This can be caused by many medical conditions and typically presents itself as high levels of protein in the urine, although the levels may be normal to low. Cat Proteinuria is an unfortunately common disorder that affects the health and wellbeing of cats, and understanding the causes of proteinuria in cats can be helpful for cat owners. In some cases, proteinuria in cats is caused by untreated or inadequately treated infections in the urinary tract such as bladder infections or urinary tract infections. If a cat is diagnosed with an infection and does not receive the appropriate treatment, proteinuria is a risk. Other causes of proteinuria in cats include congenital defects in the kidney, chronic kidney disease, increased pressure on the kidneys due to infection, diabetes, and prolonged exposure to certain medications or illegal drugs. Finally, the most common cause of proteinuria in cats is feline idiopathic cystitis, which is an inflammation of the bladder with no known cause. This inflammation can cause increased levels of protein in the urine as the kidneys compensate by pushing more proteins out of the body. If a cat is diagnosed with feline idiopathic cystitis, its owner should work with a veterinarian to come up with an appropriate treatment plan.
