Prajakta was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and made her debut in the 2006 movie Aai Shappath..! She started her television career in 2007, appearing in numerous serials, but it was not until she starred as Ayesha in Dill Mill Gaye that she truly broke into the big time. Prajakta has since appeared in many other popular serials, including Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Mahabharat and Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji.
