Poema Correspondências Courses

'Poema Correspondências', or 'Correspondences', is a poem by Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa that was first published in the 7 May 1914 edition of Portuguese magazine A Águia, with the title "Depois de triste". The poem is one of Pessoa's most famous works, and is a classic example of his symbolist style. In it, Pessoa talks of the correspondence between human emotions, natural forces, and the Universe. He presents the idea that, no matter what our trials and tribulations are in life, we are all ultimately connected to the natural forces of the Universe. The poem is divided into two major parts, each consisting of nine lines. The first part discusses the symbiosis between man and nature, and the second part explores the connections between the human soul and the Universe at large. Throughout the poem, Pessoa makes use of alliteration and assonance to create a lyrical effect. He also uses symbolism and certain images, such as "serpenting night" and "the earth's barren chest", to illustrate his points. Overall, 'Poema Correspondências' is a beautiful and powerful testament to the interconnectedness of all life. Pessoa is able to convey a sense of awe and wonder as he dives deep into the mysteries of the natural world and our place in it.
