Plzeň is a Czech football team, best known for its domestic success in the Czech First League. The team has won the league title nine times and the Czech Cup four times, making it one of the most successful clubs in the Czech Republic. The club is based in Plzeň, Czech Republic and plays in UEFA Champions League Qualifiers. The current Plzeň sestava consists of several notable international players, such as goalkeeper Jan Černy, defenders Libor Šindelář, Jakub Brabec, David Limberský, Filip Novák, and attacking players Ladislav Krejčí, Jan Kopic, Miroslav Kucka, Petržela and Roman Potočný. These experienced players provide a strong backbone for the Plzeň's attack, allowing the club to put their attack at the heart of their play. In the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League season, Plzeň became the first ever Czech team to qualify for the competition's group stage. In 2013–14 and 2014–15, Plzeň finished third in their group, but in the 2015–16 season, they managed to reach the knockout stage, eventually losing to Spanish giant Villarreal in their Round of 16 matchup.
