Pleuraschwielen Courses
Pleura Schwellen, also known as a pleural effusion, is a common medical condition in which a fluid accumulates within the pleural cavity, the space between the lungs and inside of the chest. The most common cause of pleural effusions is a result of infection, heart failure, lung cancer, or autoimmune diseases. The accumulation of fluid within the pleural cavity often causes chest pain, difficulty breathing, and tenderness when the chest is touched. Diagnosis of Pleura Schwellen is usually made with a chest X-ray, which will show an enlarged, white space between the lung and the chest wall. Treatment is aimed at the underlying cause of the condition, and can include medication, thoracentesis (removal of fluid from the chest), or surgery.
