Pleonasmus Courses
Pleonasmus is a figure of speech that is often used in writing and speech. It is when a speaker or writer uses more words than are necessary to convey a meaning or idea. It is a type of redundancy that is intentional in nature, primarily for the purpose of emphasis or to create a certain effect. Pleonasmus can occur in both spoken and written language, with examples ranging from the exaggerated use of adjectives and adverbs, to cliché phrases, to phrases that are repeated. Pleonasmus can be effective in conveying a sense of urgency or intensity, or in providing a humorous effect. However, in more formal writing, it is usually better to avoid pleonasmus, as it can make writing seem wordy or outdated.
