Plavix Classe Courses
Plavix (generic name clopidogrel bisulfate) is an antiplatelet medication classified as a thienopyridine, or a class of drugs which reduce the risk of blood clots by preventing platelets from aggregating. Plavix is used to prevent heart attacks and strokes, blocking platelets and making it difficult for them to form clots. It is often prescribed to people with coronary artery disease, and is taken either in combination with aspirin or on its own, pending the patient’s risk for bleeding. Plavix is also sometimes prescribed after stents are placed in coronary arteries and following angioplasty procedures. Plavix must be taken exactly as prescribed by a physician and is sold in both generic and brand name formulations.
