Pimple Causes Courses

Pimples, also known as acne, are a skin condition which occurs when pores become clogged with excess oil, dirt and dead skin cells. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormones, genetics, and the environment. Pimples can be treated with over-the-counter medications or prescription treatments, and are typically seen in teenagers and young adults due to hormonal changes. Hormones can play a factor in the onset of pimples. During puberty, hormones called androgens increase, leading to an increase in sebum production in the skin. This extra sebum can mix with bacteria and build up in the pores of the skin, causing irritation and inflammation. Genetics can also influence the onset of acne. If your parents had acne, you’re more likely to experience pimples, as the condition can be passed down through genetics. The type of products or medications you use can also contribute to pimples. Skin care products that are too harsh or that contain irritating ingredients, such as fragrances, can cause clogging of pores and subsequent acne lesions. Additionally, medications such as corticosteroids, lithium and testosterone can also lead to pimples. Your environment plays a role in the presence of pimples as well. Although not typically the primary cause, extreme weather conditions, high humidity and heavy sweating can lead to an exacerbation of acne. Finally, lifestyle choices such as eating unhealthy foods high in fat and sugar, not getting enough exercise, and stressing out can cause hormonal imbalances and further acute pimples.

9 MAIN CAUSES OF PIMPLES (ACNE) YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Hormonal Changes in Causes of Pimples: Fluctuations in hormones are one of the top reasons for pimples. A hormonal imbalance during the menstrual cycle or puberty can release a large number of androgens, which lead to cystic acne on the chin, neck and face.
  • Excess Production of Sebum: Another main reason behind pimples is the production of excess sebum. The sebaceous glands are present under the skin, which produce sebum that lubricates your skin and hair.
  • Dead Skin: Our Skin constantly sheds old cells to give way to new growth. Sometimes, the dead cells get trapped in the skin pores, giving rise to pimples.
  • Bacterial Infections: A bacterial infection is the main reason for acne. Our skin is always invaded with some harmless bacteria like Propionibacterium acnes.
  • Yeast Infections in Causes of Pimples: Another reason behind acne could also be a yeast infection. Many people have allergies to yeast, which can get triggered due to foods and beverages.
  • Testosterone Sensitivity: One of the main causes of acne on the face could be an increased level of testosterone in your body. A sudden pump of the “male” hormones like androgens are linked to pimple formations.
  • Dietary Factors: Diet is one of the most common causes of pimples on the face. Indulging in rich, oily or fast foods can accumulate the body with excess oil, which also shows its effect on the skin.
  • Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions, like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, can also lead to acne. Such conditions usually are chronic and are difficult to treat.
  • Sharing Of Personal Items: An indirect reason for acne on the face is through the sharing of towels or makeup tools. The bacteria-filled pus can be quite contagious and easily spread from person to person.
