Piedad Cespedes Columbia Courses

Piedad Cespdes Columbia is a Colombian professional cyclist and race promoter. She began her career in 2000 and since then she has been an inspiration to countless young cyclists. She has represented Colombia in a variety of international competitions, including the Pan American Games, World and Continental Championships, Tour of Japan, and the Giro d’Italia. She is a two-time national champion and former South American Champion. Columbia is also a leader in the promotion of professional women’s cycling. She has spearheaded the organization and coordination of the first women’s cycling stage in Colombia, which took place in 2012. Since then, she has continued to organize or promote other international cycling events, such as the Vuelta a Colombia Feminino and the Tour de las Americas, in which elite international cyclists can compete. Columbia is also a dedicated mentor and role model for aspiring young women cyclists. She has been a motivational speaker, promoting the importance of pursuing one’s passion and goals, especially for those coming from disadvantaged communities. Piedad has been widely acclaimed for opening doors for young people seeking to break into the professional cycling world, regardless of their gender, social background or economic condition.
