Physiology Course Syllabus
Introduction to Physiology This physiology course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of the physiology of the human body. Students will gain a basic understanding of the functioning of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. Additionally, students will develop critical thinking skills through the analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of concepts. Course Objectives At the completion of the course, it is expected that the student will be able to: 1. Explain basic human physiology, including the structure, function, and regulation of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems. 2. Develop a basic understanding of pathways of energy transfer and their associated regulatory mechanisms. 3. Describe and recognize major diseases and their associated physiological conditions, and discuss treatment and management of such diseases. 4. Evaluate current issues related to human physiology and develop critical thinking skills through analysis and synthesis of the associated data.
