Physiological Causes Courses
Physiological causes refer to the physical factors that can explain why a person reacts a certain way in response to external stimuli. This involves any changes in a person’s body due to mental, emotional, or physical response to environment or other stimulus. One physiological cause is hormones. Hormones are released in the body in response to different stimuli and can affect a person’s emotions, behavior, and physical reactions. For example, serotonin, dopamine, and cortisol are all hormones that are released in the body in response to stress and can affect different parts of the body in different ways. The regulation of certain hormones in the body can also affect a person’s behavior. For example, a low level of the hormone serotonin is associated with depression and anxiety, while a high level can lead to increased aggression and impulsivity. Another physiological cause can be neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that help to transmit signals between cells, and when they are released in different ways they can affect how a person's body responds. A person's serotonin levels, for example, can be regulated by how neurotransmitters like dopamine, GABA, and glutamate interact with one another and affect the cognitive processes in the brain. Neurological issues can also be a physiological cause of a person’s behavior. Neurological issues are disorders that affect the nervous system and can lead to abnormalities when it comes to a person’s physical, mental, and emotional responses. These issues can include conditions such as multiple sclerosis, depression, and autism, as well as a host of other neurological disorders. Finally, certain medical conditions can be a physiological cause of a person’s behavior. Certain medical conditions, such as an underactive thyroid, can affect the hormones in the body and cause changes in things like mood and behavior. Additionally, certain types of cancer, as well as other medical conditions, can lead to changes in a person’s behavior in response to the disease or its treatments.
This course examines Family problems and their solutions from a psychological, sociological, and religious perspective.
