Phn Immunisation Course

The PHN Immunisation Course is a comprehensive program designed for Public Health Nurses (PHNs) who are interested in pursuing a career in immunization. It provides a comprehensive overview of immunization knowledge, practice and strategies. The course focuses on preparing PHNs to provide immunizations that are safe, effective and affordable, and to assess immunization needs within their communities. The course consists of two main components: online learning activities and a face-to-face clinical component. The online component includes 12 modules of instruction, including topics such as the history of vaccines, vaccine-preventable diseases, management of outbreaks, vaccine administration and management strategies, and more. Through the online learning activities, students get hands-on experience and develop a deeper understanding of immunization. The face-to-face portion of the course includes a one-day clinical experience in which participants gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide immunization to clients. They learn proper technique for administering vaccines, the importance of patient and health care provider education, and ways to increase vaccine acceptance. The PHN Immunisation Course is designed to help PHNs provide the best possible immunization care to their clients.
