Peyronie Cause Courses

Peyronie’s Disease is a condition that is characterized by abnormal, hard scar tissue that can form underneath the skin of the penis. This scar tissue causes the penis to bend or curve when erect. Peyronie’s Disease is more common in men over 40, but can occur in men of any age. The exact cause of Peyronie’s Disease is still not known. But medical research has suggested that certain factors may contribute to its development. These factors include trauma to the penis, such as from a sports injury or an automobile accident. Genetics may play a role in some cases of Peyronie’s Disease, as well as connective tissue disorders and other diseases. Some studies suggest that hormones, microbiological agents, or inflammation may play a role in causing the condition. In addition, some medications, such as those used to treat high blood pressure, have been linked to an increased risk of Peyronie’s Disease. It is important to speak with a doctor if you think that any medications you have taken in the past may have contributed to the development of Peyronie’s Disease.
