Pentagon classes are online course materials for lifelong learners who want to expand their knowledge in technology, robotics and creative sciences. The classes are offered by Pentagon Education, a not-for-profit based in Singapore, founded by experienced educators and entrepreneurs. The classes are divided into four tracks; Applied Science, Creative Science, Robotics and Technology. The Applied Science track provides students with an in-depth understanding of the science and mathematics behind our everyday world. Students learn about physical principles such as motion, forces and energy, and their influence over the natural world. Students also explore a variety of topics including physics, biochemistry and the properties of materials. The Creative Science track gives students an adventurous journey through the art and design principles behind a variety of ingenious inventions. Participants learn how to nurture their own creativity in order to build innovative solutions. They are also given guidance on design approaches such as graphic design and architectural design. Robotics track equips participants with the knowledge to program and control engineering robots that move and perform tasks in different environments. Students learn the mechanics of motors, how to build circuits and write code so that their robot follows instructions accurately. Finally, the Technology track equips students with an extensive exploration of the essential elements of modern-day technology. This includes understanding modern databases, app design and development, web programming, game design and development, as well as machine learning. By taking a Pentagon class, students become well-rounded, highly competent and critically competent problem solvers.
