Paulette Corsair Courses
Paulette Corsair is an American art director and visual artist whose work spans painting, photography, sculpture, and video installation. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Paulette began her visual art career in 1996 at the Rhode Island School of Design. She later moved to New York City where she completed an MFA at the School of Visual Arts in 2000. Corsair’s paintings often combine straight lines, abstract forms and vibrant colors with subtle, almost minimalistic elements. In her sculpture, Paulette uses a wide range of materials such as wood, metal, and clay to explore themes related to identity and the body. Her photographs and video installations typically examine themes of social upheaval, war, and economic oppression. Paulette has exhibited her artwork in cities all over the world, including New York, Montreal, and Tokyo. Paulette’s artwork has received critical acclaim from art critics and won numerous awards. Her work has been featured in the New Museum, the Whitney Museum of Art, and the International Center of Photography, among others. Over the years, she has collaborated with contemporary art contemporaries such as Tom Sachs, Rachel Whiteread, and Jennifer Steinkamp. In recognition for her achievements in the visual arts, Paulette was awarded the prestigious New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in 2010.
