Pasjans Pajak, also known as Microsoft Solitaire, is a solitaire card game that has been included with the Microsoft Windows operating system since 1990. The game was originally invented by a French mathematician in the early 1800s and has become a popular way to pass the time in many offices and homes. In Pasjans Pajak the player begins with a shuffled deck of playing cards. The aim of the game is for the player to move all of the cards from the packs on the screen to the four foundations located in the upper-right corner of the screen. To do so, the player must use the seven columns on the screen, which contain face-up and face-down cards. The player can move cards to the foundations if they are the same suit and in ascending order. They can also move cards from one column to another if the card being moved is one number lower than the card it is being placed on and if the cards are of different suits. The game is won when all of the cards have been moved to one of the foundations.
