Papouasie Carte Courses
The Papouasie region, comprising the West Papua province of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, is one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. For many travelers, a map of the Papouasie region is the first step to charting out a journey to this exciting destination. The Papouasie is divided into two parts: West Papua and Papua New Guinea. The map highlights this segmentation, with the two nations surrounded by water. To the north lies the Arafura Sea; to the south, the Bismarck Sea; and to the east and west, the Solomon and Coral Seas, respectively. On either side of the dividing line between West Papua and Papua New Guinea lies a vast collection of islands. Most of the overarching island, New Guinea, lies in the northwest while a few islands to the southwest are part of the Solomon group. Other islands of particular interest are Halmahera, located to the east of the mainland; Fergusson Island, located just south of New Guinea; and Yapen Island, situated in the northwesternmost corner of the Papouasie region. The mainland of New Guinea, shared by both West Papua and Papua New Guinea, is further segmented into a number of provinces, each with its own set of cities and towns. West Papua, the western portion of the mainland, is composed of five provinces: Jayapura (home to many of the ethnic Papuans), Papua Barat, Papua Tengah, Papua Selatan, and Papua Bagian Timur. To the east lies the nation of Papua New Guinea, divided into twenty-two provinces. Full of unique landscapes, cultures, and wildlife, the Papouasie region is a travel destination for intrepid adventurers and explorers. A Papouasie map can provide the necessary guidance to uncovering the many treasures of the region’s dense forests, secluded beaches, and beautiful islands.
