Palmetto Course Vermiculite
Palmetto Course Vermiculite is a lightweight soil amendment that is ideal for use in sand-based greens and golf courses. It increases air and water absorption into the soil, allowing for better root penetration and improved soil structure. Vermiculite is also commonly used as a growing medium for seedlings, potted plants, and hydroponic systems. Palmetto Course Vermiculite is made from naturally occurring minerals that come from the Palmetto region of South Carolina. It has a high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) which helps its ability to retain moisture and nutrients, and it doesn’t alter pH levels. The expanded particles hold up to three times their weight in water, yet stay loose and friable to provide texture and aeration. Palmetto Course Vermiculite helps create more resilient greens surfaces and provides long-term benefits such as improved drainage and reduced water runoff. It is 100% eco-friendly and a great alternative to peat moss or chemical soil amendments. Palmetto Course Vermiculite also helps reduce compaction and provides thermal insulation for better root zone temperature control. This makes it an ideal choice for golf courses, sports fields and other high-traffic areas.
