Pal Course Manitoba (PCM) is a unique program that provides hands-on learning for children ages 8-14 on the importance of Pal Infrastructure. PCM emphasizes teaching youth how to build and maintain strong, healthy, and safe relationships through active involvement in building and sustaining a trusting and supportive social network. By participating in the PCM program, kids learn about self-awareness, effective communication skills, relationship-building and repair, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and anger management. Through these activities, the program aims to help kids to become more responsible citizens, and to develop important skills such as social, communication, and emotional ones in a safe, supportive, and positive environment. PCM encourages youth to be mindful, and to use different approaches including participation in discussions and activities, creative performances, and service projects to help them better understand the value, responsibilities, and opportunities that come with effective collaboration and meaningful relationships. PCM is carried out in schools across Manitoba, as part of their Health and Physical Education programs, as well as in various community organizations or creative programs including some Aboriginal Programs.
