Pachycephalosaurus is an ornithischian dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous Period, between 85-65 million years ago. It was a herbivore with a distinctive dome-shaped skull. It was one of the last non-avian dinosaurs to have existed. Pachycephalosaurus was a bipedal dinosaur with a total length of around 6 to 8 feet. Its skull was dome-shaped with a large head and thick, bony plates that provided protection on both the top and sides of the head. Its neck and tail were both thick and muscular, and it had stout hind legs. Its front legs were very short, but its feet had digits that allowed it to grip the ground. Pachycephalosaurus had a number of adaptations to defend itself against predators. Its distinct dome-shaped skull had large, bony plates on either side, preventing predators from getting a good hold on its head. It also had a thickened neck and tail that were used to fend off predators and a large, thickened pentagonal scute on its tail that was used to protect it from blows. Pachycephalosaurus is thought to have been a grazer, with a diet that consisted primarily of low-growing plants such as cycads and conifers. It had a built-in storage system for food that it may have used to help itself survive during times of famine. Pachycephalosaurus was a magnificent creature that was an integral part of the late Cretaceous Period.
