Orasul Costesti Arges Courses

Costesti is a small city in the Arges County region of Romania. Located 40km north of Pitesti, the county’s administrative center, it is known as the “City of Roses”. The current population is 7300 inhabitants, however, its history dates back to the 14th century. The city of Costesti is the largest city in the Arges Valley within the sub-mountainous area of the Valcea River. Much of its architectural beauty and cultural artifacts have been preserved since the Middle Ages. Costesti is home to several architectural monuments, churches and monasteries with the most impressive being the Cathedral of Costesti. The building was first constructed in the 17th century and later underwent a restoration in the 19th century. It is a great example of 17th decorative brickwork. In addition to its great architectural monuments, Costesti is famous for its beautiful landscape, which includes the Arges Valley and the exquisite Carpathian Mountains.
