Olmesartan Cause Ed Courses
Olmesartan is a medication commonly prescribed to treat high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. However, this drug has been linked to a number of serious side effects, including erectile dysfunction (ED). This condition is characterized by difficulty getting and keeping an erection, and it can impact a person’s sex life and general wellbeing. Studies have found that olmesartan may be linked to ED, although this is not a common side effect. In one study, 39% of men taking olmesartan reported ED, compared to 25% of men taking amlodipine, another drug used to treat high blood pressure. Another study found that men taking olmesartan were 4.6 times more likely to develop ED compared to those taking hydrochlorothiazide, another hypertension drug. However, it is important to note that the risk of developing ED with olmesartan is still relatively low. It is also possible that other factors may be contributing to ED in patients taking this medication. If you are taking olmesartan and are experiencing symptoms of ED, be sure to talk to your doctor. In some cases, your doctor may be able to change your medication and replace it with one that doesn’t cause ED. If ED persists, your doctor can also recommend treatments that may help improve your symptoms.
