Okehampton Golf Courses
Okehampton Golf Club is located in the beautiful Southwest region of England and lies just south of Exeter. The nine-hole parkland course was originally designed by 5-time Open Championship winner J.H Taylor in 1907, and since then has been updated and tweaked to suit modern golfers. The course is laid out on gently undulating terrain and stretches from just over 5,000 yards from the white tees. Fairways are framed by well-maintained bunkers, along with a few residential homes and a few trees, offering a challenge for all levels of golfers. The par 71 course features one par 5 and two par 3s, plus seven par 4s that require strategic thinking and a consistent game. The fairways consist mainly of lush grass, allowing for a smooth and consistent game, while the greens are mostly true, rolling in all directions, with a few tricky slopes along the way. This is a course that is well-known for its large, picturesque greens and is a real challenge to even the more experienced golfers. Okehampton hosts a number of well-run tournaments throughout the year including club championships, member-guest tournaments, and open days. The clubhouse comes with a pro shop, bar and restaurant, and offers a range of club and buggy hire. The on-site pro shop can also re-grip and re-shaft clubs.
