Lotro Classes Ranked Courses

Arthurian legend inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of The Rings is the basis for the massively-multiplayer online game (MMO) The Lord of The Rings Online (or LOTRO). As such, there are nine classes all inspired by characters from the movie and book series. In this article, we’ll be ranking those nine classes from best to worst, based on their relative effectiveness, versatility, and fun factor. 1. The Warden – The Warden is an all-around powerful and versatile class in LOTRO. Armed with a range of different weapons and options to use in battle, the Warden is able to survive in tough situations and dish out punishing damage with relative ease. The Warden is great for taking on large groups with its AoE abilities while also being durable enough to survive the most intense duels. 2. The Burglar – Borrowing heavily from Tolkien’s beloved thief, Bilbo Baggins, the Burglar class is a master of deception and trickery. Utilizing gadgets and ingenious traps, the Burglar can easily outwit and outlast any enemies that stand in its way. Not to mention that the Burglar is armed with a range of different abilities to manipulate the battlefield like no other class can. 3. The Hunter – Taking inspiration from Legolas and Aragorn, the Hunter is a class that focuses on ranged combat. The Hunter specializes in dealing large amounts of damage from afar, raining arrows and blasts of energy to take down enemies with precision and speed. The Hunter also has a variety of gadgets to make long-range combat even easier and more effective. 4. The Champion – A powerhouse class that favors close-quarters combat, the Champion has the largest amount of hitpoints of all the classes and is known for its incredible survivability. While their damage output isn’t as high as other classes, it more than makes up for it with its ability to take an absurd amount of punishment. 5. The Rune-keeper – Generally used as a support class, the Rune-keeper wields the power of the elements to heal allies and damage adversaries alike. Its abilities are geared towards damage limitation and buffing its allies, although it can dish out the pain if needed. 6. The Minstrel – An interesting class that combines the healing properties of a typical support class with the unique power of music. The Minstrel’s skills enable it to play inspiring songs to buff their allies and soothe the enemies’ hearts, rendering them almost harmless. 7. The Lore-master – An ancient caster of times long past, the Lore-master is a mage of sorts but is more focused on knowledge than power. With its access to a variety of elemental spells, the Lore-master is great for crowd control and can easily manipulate the game to its favor thanks to its knack for knowledge. 8. The Guardian – A warrior-esque class that emphasizes defense in combat more than offense. The Guardian’s skills enable its allies to survive longer and take less damage in the heat of battle. They also have access to a variety of defensive spells and skills to protect themselves and others from the greater evils of the land. 9. The Captain – The least-used class in LOTRO, the Captain is a commander of sorts that specializes in directing allies to their objectives and leading them to victory. While the Captain has access to defensive and offensive skills, it really shines as a support class, protecting its allies from harm with its strong presence and tactical decisions. No matter which class you choose, LOTRO’s classes are incredibly diverse and each class has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. So, go forth and choose your desired class, adventurers!
