Design of 100% Renewable Energy Systems
Design of 100% Renewable Energy Systems
This course is mainly illustrating 100% renewable energy systems and the global movement in this direction to be achieved by 2050 in order to face the global warming, the climate change, the economical problems and the unemployment. In the beginning of the course the challenges and solutions for 100% renewable energy will be presented in addition to different renewable energy resources and technologies. The course will also show the role of energy storage, smart meters, inverters, converters and smart controllers in order to achieve the 100% renewable energy dream. The course presents methods to design 100% renewable energy houses/ factories / communities in standalone (off-grid) and grid-tied (on-grid) basis considering real case studies and communities that were converted to 100% renewable energy namely a farm in desert, a university and a factory. The course also presents solutions in terms of optimization to maximize the penetration level of renewable energies in power grid scale for countries considering Egyptian power grid and Upper-Egypt region as a region is now operating by 100% renewable energy power plants. The course will help the students after finishing it to be able to design 100% renewable energy systems and find solutions that could maximize the penetration level of renewable energies in different countries.
Renewable energy, Sustainable energy, Zero carbon dioxide emissions, Off-grid PV systems, On-grid PV systems.
