In the modern vampire community, there are many designations of people who relate to in whole or part with the archetype of the vampire. As a professional fangsmith and event coordinator for Endless Night Vampire Ball and a devotee in the fangdom of Anne Rice, I have had the opportunity to meet more people in person in the “modern vampire community” in person than anyone else alive today. I have been involved in the international vampire community since 1993 and the following are my personal classifications on the different types of vampires.

Father Sebastiaan is an American fangsmith, published author and impresario. He is a former dental assistant working as a "fangsmith," crafting custom-made fangs for consumers. He is the founder of the Sabretooth Clan, a fangmaking business and social network for the vampire subculture, and has worked as an author and co-author of several books on the occult and the vampire subculture.

Musician by day, fanged fatale by night! JoHanna Moresco participates in the vampire subculture, contributing creatively and performing with the Endless Nights Vampire Ball — the largest, oldest, and best known long-running event enjoyed by living vampires around the world.

As well as hosting, she frequently awards the “Best Dressed” vampire. JoHanna also teaches classes about vampirism, and the Black Veils — a spiritual and philosophical system practiced by many lifestyle vampires — as part of an on-line series of courses through Father Sebastiaan’s Vampire University.
