We have made this course basic and practical on purpose. Many courses out there don’t approach self-defense in a realistic way and make it relevant to real life situations. Either the techniques are overly complicated or won’t really work when you need them to. This is what led us to develop this “Rule of Thumb” techniques training course. The reality is that no matter what hold a person places on you, if you concentrate on their thumbs, you can break any hold in seconds. Every martial art teaches this, however, they make you believe that you need years of their training to master these basic, life-saving skills. And although I am formally trained in mixed martial arts myself, I know that the basic skills for surviving any attack can be taught within minutes. This course is for the everyday woman who just wants to avoid being the next victim and make it back home safely at the end of the day.

How to escape any chokehold quickly

How to break free from an attacker when being grabbed from behind

How to effectively strike an attacker in the most vulnerable areas

Understanding somatic reflexes and why it works

How to turn the tide on an attacker with an aggressive and unsuspecting foot stomp

How to get out of any arm or shirt grab situation with ease

More importantly this course will help you to become more aware of your surroundings. Being aware of your surroundings is one of the most important parts of self-defense. Not only will it help you to possibly avoid an attack altogether, but can also help you to be a little better prepared in the event of an attack that is unavoidable. Knowing the most effective ways and areas to strike an attacker can also quickly disable them and buy you the time you need to escape. In this course you will learn the most effective places to strike in the body and many other important and practical skills. If you strike a person in certain areas of the body the body will automatically react a certain way, giving you the critical seconds you need to get away. This lesson will show you how to effectively and quickly get out of any chokehold and even strike an attacker after breaking the hold. But breaking free is most important. You will learn how to break the hold and escape quickly. After this course, you will be able to confidently and quickly defend yourself, if it ever becomes necessary.
