Introduction to Short Mindful Breathing Meditations
Many of us, when it comes to improving our health, do not really think of deep breathing techniques as complementary and natural healing tools for the mind and body, and so many individuals, especially beginners, do not have the right idea about meditation itself either. Most people think that the act of meditation is just about sitting somewhere still and trying to quiet the mind by fighting all the thoughts and emotions stirring up within them.
Meditation exercises, in fact, are designed to increase our conscious attention, focused concentration on an anchor, and expand our awareness of what is going on within and in the outside world mindfully. Almost the majority of us breathe on auto-piolet mode unless we decide to breathe on an anchor, like breathwork technique, consciously that is the emphasis of this breathing meditation audio-video training. Breathing exercises do not have any side effects and breathing activities are available at any time with no need for any external accessories but your own presence and body.
When we are under mental, emotional, psychological tension or even fear, the stress factors trigger the sympathetic nervous system, which associates with stress-related symptoms such as faster heart rate with higher blood pressure, irritability, anxiety, and physical body tension. By engaging in deep breathing activities, we slow down the workload of the sympathetic nervous system from being overloaded in the most natural way possible. Learning to breathe deeply promotes staying calm, living a content life consciously moment by moment with more control over the impulses. With daily breathing exercises and meditations, we are resting and cooling the body and especially the nervous system.
So by exercising breathing activities with meditations, we try to focus on the breath as an anchor to quiet the mind and expand our awareness mindfully to be in more control of our thoughts and improve our attitude toward external or internal triggers. There are many techniques regarding deep breathing exercises called Pranayama, but in this audio-video training, we only exercise short deep breathing techniques, like:
“Breath Focused Technique and Meditation,” with short, guided imagery to relax the body and mind,
“Deep Abdominal Breathing Technique and Meditation,” to oxygenate the body,
“Revered Abdominal Breathing Technique and Meditation,” to activate the flow of Prana or chi within the system,
“Deep Nostril Breathing Exercise,” to refresh the flow of the Pranic energy or Chi into the emotional body and the Chakras,
and a relaxing breathing activity called, “Deep Pursed Lip Breathing Meditation.” to release the trapped air from the lungs.
Remember in time, the chest gradually as we age will become tense and the body will lose its center of gravity, and one of the major benefits of following the instructions in this breathwork meditation training is that you will learn how to promote your breath and get your lungs stronger.
In summary, I have designed this breathwork meditation audio-video training for those busy individuals who like to learn how to meditate and elevate their mood as fast as possible with quick short mindful deep breathing techniques and guided meditations.
