MAYA 2022 Basic Tutorial for Beginners: LEVEL 2

This is the second part in this Autodesk Maya basic tutorial for beginners series. If you have not watched the first part then I suggest watching that first and then come to this. Our main objective in this class is for you to have an idea of what proceduralism is and how to work with Mash. We will continue with the 3d model of the doughnut we made in the first part, we will add sprinkles and  create more detailed textures for our doughnut model. When your done you should be able to create more appealing and realistic textures for your 3d models.

The goal of this class is for you to have a basic understanding of  the Mash Maya's procedural system, also learn how to UV unwrap 3d models and learn how to texture you 3d models using image files. You should be able to make more realistic textures like the ones on the thumbnail for this class by using bump and normal maps to fake detail.

For this to happen you as the student should:

Understand how to work with Mash

Use mash to sprinkle the doughnut with sprinkles

Understand how UV mapping woks in Maya

Demonstrate the ability to correctly texture your 3d models using image files

Have a working knowledge of how to apply bump and normal maps

All of the above Items are skills that will be learned during the class. If you are stuck there is a zip file attached as a resource that contains my completed doughnut that can be helpful to study
