Drake OTD Capstone: Occupational Therapy Education
Drake OTD Capstone: Occupational Therapy Education
In this course I will be discussing my capstone experience which I completed at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa as part of my occupational therapy doctoral degree (OTD) from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I will also discuss the differences between educational requirements of an OTA and an OTD degree.
I spent 14 weeks helping teach occupational therapy assistant program students at Indian Hills Community College. The focused themes of my capstone experience were clinical practice skills and occupational therapy education. I created a large amount of educational content for the programs’ two instructors, who were my capstone mentors. I assisted in hosting lab sessions as well as office hours for the students in the program.
You will be able to view some of my artifacts as resources that you may use to supplement your own study in the field of occupational therapy, or as review material prior to taking your board exams.
This course may also be helpful to you if you are deciding whether to pursue a career as an occupational therapist (OTR) versus an occupational therapy assistant (COTA).
Please reach out to me if you have any further questions regarding my citations, resources, or other portions of this Udemy course presentation.
