Learn How to Make Spicy Sausage Ragu and Chicken Parmesan

Chef Annie takes you through how to make spicy sausage ragu and chicken parmesan.  These two Italian dishes pair well together or can be made separately as their own main dish.

Chicken Parmesan is a classic American Italian dish that is found at many restaurants. It is very popular, but it is also very simple to make at home. The crispy, golden fried chicken breast smothered with homemade marinara sauce and gooey provolone cheese is the perfect comfort food.

This recipe goes great with my master marinara sauce and garlic bread recipes. Having a pasta dish on the side makes for a great meal. A simple lemony arugula salad would be great with it as well.

The word ragu is an Italian word meaning meat-based sauce which is commonly served with pasta. Take a marinara sauce, for instance, add meat, and you get ragu. Different regions of Italy are known for adding different types of meat such as pork, offal, beef, and even horse.

In this recipe, Chef Annie adds a spicy sausage to her master marinara sauce to create a delicious ragu. She serves this sauce with a simple spaghetti pasta and pairs well with her chicken parmesan and garlic bread recipes.

In addition, as a bonus, Chef Annie has included a lesson on how to make her master marinara sauce.  This versatile sauce can be used on just about any pasta dish (including in this recipe), chicken (like in this recipe), or even as a starter pizza sauce.  Impress your friends by making homemade sauce rather than buying it in a jar!
