Color Theory 101 for the Beginner Acrylic Painter
Color Theory 101 for the Beginner Acrylic Painter
Are you a complete beginner to acrylic painting but have always wanted to give it a try? Well then start here! Color theory is one of the most fundamental skills that a painter can have in their artistic arsenal.
I have been teaching acrylic painting to beginners for over 10 years, and have taken over 20 years of art instruction privately and academically. I’ve had many, many students tell me that they felt like they needed to understand how to mix colors better in order to both follow along with painting tutorials, as well as create art on their own. Many of my students express a passion or aptitude for drawing, or understand what it is that they want to paint, but colors remain elusive and they can’t quite meet the gap between what they imagine and what ends up on the canvas.
I designed this course for my beginning students who want to learn how to create paintings on their own, but don't yet know how to mix the correct shades, tints, tones, and shades. This course is great practice and great fundamentals for artists of any age wanting to get their feet wet in the art world.
This course also includes a full-length painting tutorial, the "Tree of Many Colors," which is a great first-time painting for artists, and a great way to apply the color skills learned in the previous lectures and projects. The projects and the painting tutorial are designed for the artist to paint along and create their own colors and art and learn by doing.
So c'mon, what are you waiting for? Let's get creative!
