Marxism: English Literature
Designed for college students and professionals, this course will first introduce you to major ideas of Karl Marx and then introduce you to Marxism as a method of critical and cultural analysis. Using video lectures and other media, we will cover, besides Marx, some major Marxist works and then learn the Marxist-materialistic way of understanding literature and the world around us.
Karl Marx, without a doubt, is one of the most influential modern figure and his works have not only informed politics, economy, and social struggles but beyond their original intent, his works also enable scholars from all fields of humanities and social sciences to understand the world and its systems better. So, even if you disagree with Marx, many people do, it is important to gain some basic knowledge about Marx and Marxism.
This course isn't only about academic and humanistic studies, for the content can also help you view at the world from a materialistic critical lense, which can enable you to understand complex and simple social systems better.
