Watercolor sunset in the field

Watercolor sunset in the field

One of my favorite things in painting is capturing the light. And in watercolor it can be as easy as challenging.

In this class you will learn to create a simple but spectacular picture of a sunset in the field.

You will discover :

  • How to combine Wet-on-Dry and Wet-on-Wet watercolor techniques

  • How to make a light effect

  • How to work efficiently with a limited color palette

First, in this class you'll see overview of materials that we're going to use in this class. Then you'll discover exercises with explanations of basic techniques in watercolor and chosen color palette. Finally, step by step we will paint together a sunset picture, using learnt techniques, trying to combine them and to find a balance between detainig and loose watercolor elements.

Materials used in this class :

  • Paper: watercolor mixed (25% celulose+ 75% cotton), 300 gsm, Grain fin (cold pressed). Can be replaced by 50%-50% mixed paper or 100% cotton paper for better result
