Watercolor with Me: Beautiful Birch Trees
In this class for every level, we will explore painting quick and easy watercolor birch trees. We will be using an unusual tool for watercolor - a palette knife! That's right - we are using a palette knife to paint with watercolor! We will also experiment with watercolor crystals called Brusho.
First, we will talk about supplies, and warm up with the techniques we will be using in this class.
Then, I will demonstrate 6 different birch tree paintings! We will start with a practice painting, and gradually add a little more difficulty as we go. Most paintings can be completed in 5-10 minutes. The most complex painting only takes about 20 minutes!! This is such a fun and easy technique!
Your lovely birch tree paintings will be beautiful framed art or make great holiday or Christmas cards!!
Student reviews:
"Jessica really made this class super easy! She provides a lot of helpful detail without it feeling overwhelming for a new, curious student or beginner watercolorist. I really think that anyone can take this class, no matter how much experience you have with watercolor. It's a short project and very entertaining. I'm kind of a control freak with my own paintings, so being able to just cut loose and create something so simple and loose really helps relieve a bit of artistic stress. Also helps flex my artistic muscles! Who would have guessed that a simple palette knife would be so wonderful to use in watercolor paintings? I can definitely see myself doing this again as a background for a larger scene. I highly recommend to give this class a go!" -Sarah Randall
"Jessica is a wonderful teacher. Her lessons and actionable steps were clear and very doable. She has an infectious joy in painting and it comes thru in her instructions. I look forward to trying all of the steps outlined in this class." -Nan G.
"This is a very fun class. I think the results are obtainable for anyone with practice. I liked all the different ways of using the pallet knife but I think my favorite was the brushoes and negative space. Jessica is a wonderful and informative teacher, easy to learn from. I will be trying all these steps in the very near future." -Anastasia Miller
